The Malwa region of the state of Punjab including Bhatinda - known as the cancer belt - has the highest average of 136 cancer patients per 1 lakh people, as per Punjab government study released in 2013.
An awareness programme was organised by Ms Paramita- Sr Manager GCCI at Khidderpore, Kolkata. 65 women attended the programme .
In view of the need of cancer care in Ludhiana, GCCI has been running Mobile Palliative Care Unit for the poor cancer patients for the last 6 years. Now GCCI is expanding its Palliative Care Program to cover more areas and more number of people.
GCCI Kerala branch organised a Breast Cancer Awareness Programme at Kottayam, District Panchayath Office in which the representatives from 74 Panchayaths numbering 210 ladies participated.
